One of the biggest matches in Norwegian league football is coming up this weekend. We are looking at the matchup between two of Norway’s most successful clubs in recent history. We also added a freebet at the end!
Both teams got a great start to their season, despite not playing at their top level. They both got 6 points in the two first matches, so this is a great chance for one of them to get ahead early. Rosenborg are favourites, but Molde are known for giving their rivals trouble.
Molde on a mission
After two quite disappointing seasons in the league, Molde is out to get their revenge this year. Winning 1-0 away to Kristiansund BK and a late 2-1 home win against Lillestrøm will give them the boost they need before traveling to Trondheim. Although Molde has not looked the best in neither of their matches, they have come away with the win, which is a quality sign itself. Last season the club had a lot of trouble coming away with a win in the close matches, so their start to this season could be a sign they really mean business. Losing twice to RBK last season means Molde will have a plan to get revenge and be fired up for this match.
The Lord is awakening
Rosenborg also recorded a perfect start to their season. 3-0 win over title rival Odd and 3-0 over newly promoted Sandefjord. RBK will be very happy to see Nicklas Bendtner got started, and already have two goals in the books. Some thought he would be a total flop for Rosenborg, but so far, those critics have been wrong. There are some concerns that Rosenborg struggled in first half against both Odd and Sandefjord, and they will need to sharpen up before Molde comes to visit.
Norwegian ‘El Clasico’
This match will never be as big as the counter part in Spain, but for many in the middle part of Norway, this is the best thing each year. We expect a full house at Lerkendal, and players that fire themselves up at another level for this match. Cards, goals and controversies are the norm when these two meet. Molde will be very happy to escape the first week with 7 points. The same counts for Rosenborg, but for them, losing points to their biggest rival at home, is much harder to swallow.
Under 3.5 goals – 1.60 @ unibet
We think this will be a thight and physical match, and should not see too many goals. 1.60 at Unibet is good value – good luck!
